Presidential Pets - Pets in the White House

We landed on a website called presidentialpetmuseum.com. Just as the name implies, it's about the pets that have lived in the White House. At the bottom of the page, there are links to the site as well as links to the White House website where more pictures can be seen.




This is FIDO. No I am not kidding! Could this be reason that FIDO has become such a popular name for dogs depicted in TV and cartoons over the years? Pet of the Lincoln's

Buddy - The Clinton family dog Buddy arrived at the White House in December 1997. He was a chocolate Labrador Retriever. Buddy was killed by a car outside his home in New York on January 2nd, 2002



Ruff, ruff...hi folks, I'm Lucky the Bouvier des Flandres. I love to chase newsmen, play hide-in-seek and have my two-hour siesta with Ronny every afternoon in the Oval Office.

The Kennedys pose with a virtual K-9 corps of family dogs at Hyannisport; included are Irish spaniel Shannon, Welsh terrier Charlie, German shepherd Clipper, and the pups of Pushinka, who was a gift to Caroline from Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev.



President William Howard Taft's cow, Pauline, poses in front of the Navy Building, which is known today as the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Pauline was the last cow to live at the White House and provided milk for President Taft (1909-13).
