Wegotpets.com provides a medium for pet owners who, for one reason or another, need to find new homes for their pets and for pet lovers to find a new family member.

Wegotpets.com is privately owned and NOT affiliated in any which way, shape or form with any political or animal rights organization or movement, corporation, pet store or chain, pet breeders, pet supply manufacturers, other pet websites, pet rescues or shelters. Wegotpets.com sees itself strictly as an information provider.

Wegotpets.com was conceived towards the end of October 2003 and sat idle for many months. The site was never intended to be real! In fact, it was started as a joke and a coding experiment. Now, with over 5,000 unique visitors a month, it's no longer a joke! The only remaining clue that wegotpets.com was a joke is the pet types listed in the selection box in our search engine. No one we know of has a pet moose!

In early in 2004, the pet types list was altered which created a disaster with the database. Profiles were corrupted and search results were flawed. Over time, as old profiles were pruned, the problem corrected itself. It was determined that this list would remain untouched and the "MOOSE" would have to stay. At the very least, should you or a friend ever want a moose or have a moose to sell, you can do it here!

In February 2006 We Got Pets came under new ownership. The mission remains the same. Since then, we have given the site a makeover cleaning up not only the look but the code behind the scene.
